University High School had the opportunity to visit the Yogi Berra Museum on November 6th. Located on the campus of Montclair State University, the museum is currently celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Negro Baseball Leagues. “Discover Greatness: An Illustrated History of Negro Leagues Baseball is a traveling exhibit from the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City. The exhibit showcases African American baseball beginning in the 1800’s to the 1960’s. Students learned about the Independent Leagues, how the Negro Leagues were formed, Jackie Robinson breaking into the Major Leagues and the decline of the Negro Leagues. Yogi Berra Museum provided an interactive experience utilizing artificial intelligence to bring vintage black and white images of the Negro League history to life.
