Message from Our Principal, Dr. Jose Aviles
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed principal of Barringer High School. I am both excited and honored to bring my skills as an educational leader to Barringer High School, as well as to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
This school year marks a new era in the history of Barringer High School. During this school year, Barringer will provide a student-centered climate and culture, along with a unified team of dedicated educators to teach and inspire our students.
Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to ensure the success of each student, by building strong relationships with parents, students, as well as with the community. As principal, I will also personally ensure that every student is given the opportunity to achieve academic excellence, as well as college and career readiness.
This new leadership and exciting opportunities at Barringer would not have been possible without Ms. Angela Mincy, who united Barringer under one team, both on the field and in the classroom. I will not only continue Ms. Mincy’s amazing work, but I will also focus on taking Barringer to new heights, in every way possible.
The first day back for students is September 3rd, 2019. The administrative team and I have exciting plans for all of our students. We will continue to improve our comprehensive support and intervention programs to help all students achieve academic excellence, as well as overcome any obstacle before them. Our school will continue to be a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment, that will promote the social-emotional growth of every student.
Furthermore, our teachers, staff, and administrators will continue to foster and strengthen partnerships with every parent/guardian. Our staff will provide opportunities throughout the school year to enable parents to play a vital role in their child’s education, especially by giving all parents a prominent voice in our decision making as a school community.
Our teachers, staff, and administrators are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever. As principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students, and parents-are excited to be here! This attitude enables all of us, particularly the students, to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a fun, positive, and nurturing environment.
I look forward to a wonderful school year and to working with you as a team to help your children meet their goals and have a successful school year!
Jose Aviles, Ed. D.
