Social Studies
Overview
Teachers will infuse social studies instruction into the transdisciplinary units of study in authentic ways. Teachers may also plan stand-alone units around content specific information. Teachers may choose to utilize district resources, including textbooks, as they plan for the integration of social studies into transdisciplinary units.
All classrooms have common elements that make them more conducive to social studies. These elements include:
- Wall Maps (U.S., World, etc.)
- Atlases (developmentally appropriate)
- Globe that is accessible to students
- Books pertaining to different cultures and societies around the world
