This summer travel scholarship opportunity is open to students from grade 9 – 12.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED MARCH 13, 2015.
Nat Geo Student Expeditions offers four types of summer programs: expeditions, field workshops, photography workshops, and community service programs. All of the trips range from eleven days to three weeks. On expeditions, students will experience the best of the destination through in-depth exploration of a country or region. Field and photography workshops are shorter, with one or two bases, from which students set out to explore their spectacular surroundings. On expeditions and field workshops, students will pursue an On Assignment project of their choice and be accompanied by a National Geographic expert for a portion of the trip. Photography workshops culminate with a final gallery opening and are led by a National Geographic photographer. On community service programs, students will delve into the local culture, working alongside members of the community on collaborative service projects.
The Nat Geo Mundo Explorer program will award only ONE STUDENT from the Newark area a full scholarship to the Nat Geo Student Expeditions program this summer.
