American History students volunteered their time to St Johns Soup Kitchen on Thursday  Feb 20. While at the Kitchen, students dropped off food donations that they had been collecting since Thanksgiving 2019.  Students also helped out in the distributing of warm winter clothing.  The following students were in attendance:

  1. Karyn Jean- Jacques
  2. Julian Navarrete
  3. Florencia Paz
  4. Joshua Rodriguez
  5. Aliyah Thomas
  6. Mimi Agbobli
  7. Britney Ajila
  8. Vanessa Garcia
  9. Manuel Sosa-Garcia
  10. Zahir Adams
  11. Keyla Zaruma
  12. Briana Culcay
  13. D.C Castillo-Mejia, Dirian Osiris Castillo
  14. Melissa Arizabal
  15. Kelly Villa
  16. Gary Lopez

The outstanding students listed above are also part of our Future Educators Chapter. For the last 3 years in a row they have selected St. John as our  “The Future Educators Service Project” which, this year,  started in November 2019 and ended in late January 2020. Students collecting socks and toiletries for St. John’s Soup Kitchen - This Mark American History's 3rd year with St, John's. Our kindhearted students, most of them who are seniors and have been accepted into numerous Universities, worked in the pantry, helped out in the kitchen and most importantly served and interacted with the men, women and families that visit St. John’s for a warm meal and a pair of warm socks. This was super rewarding for us all involved as everyone felt super grateful and lucky to touch those in need.

Please consider spending the day with St. John’s as they help serve the needs of many with grace, dignity, and love.
