Students Taking Active Roles (STAR):

The mission of this club is to work together with the Covenant house in Newark.  We are in the process of developing activities to bring awareness on teen homelessness, runaways and trafficking, while raising money to help the organization and help their community.  So far we have had one meeting and our numbers were low (4 students) due to the fact I failed to make a school announcement.  I’m looking to meet with them every Thursday from 3-4 in the back of the library.  I will be meeting with Ms. Monteiro-Covenant house coordinator-this coming Thursday after school.  In regard to pictures, as soon as our group increase and activities start taking place, I will be happy to submit pictures.
