Our senior of the month is Martiza Caguana. Martiza is so kind and loving and a wonderful role model for us all. This is her story. She was born in Newark and attended Ann street School. Both of her parents are from Ecuador and came to America to give their children a better life. She is so grateful to her parents for pushing and encouraging her to do well in school.
Martiza in her junior year enrolled in our Early College Program(ECP)where she will graduate high a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 and is ranked eleventh out of 446 seniors. She has already been accepted to Rutgers where she has dreams of a career in law enforcement, as they have a great criminal justice programs. Along with her academic excellence, Martiza was inducted into the National Honor Society as a junior, been a member of the Spanish Club, the Newark Law Enforcement Police Explorers Club and Pathways to Achievement and Success along with working part time. She is so proud of the work that she has done here at East Side. Martiza is quite remarkable and we are so proud of her. So, congratulations to Martiza Caguana for being selected our senior of the month.
