Keyli Hernandez-Pineda

Our student of the month is Keyli Hernandez-Pineda who is a junior. She came to the United States in 2016 from Honduras. As a 15-year-old she traveled to a new country with a different language and culture. To say the least this was very challenging to her but thanks to her family, friends and staff at East Side High School, all of those challenges became her strengths.  She is a hard worker and a dreamer who wants to change the world.   Keyli has already made a difference here at East Side.

Since her 9th grade year, she has made the honor roll every cycle. As a junior she is enrolled in our Early College Program where she will receive an Associate Degree when she graduates from high school.  She presently has a cumulative grade point average of 4.08 and is in ESL 3.  She also has joined the Spanish Club, Future Teachers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the Student Council.  She would one day love to study medicine at Stockton University, the first college that she visited.  With her hard work and perseverance, she will one day accomplish her goal of becoming a doctor and contributing to society.  We are so proud to have Keyli here at East Side.  Her smile lights up our school.  Congratulations to Keyli Hernandez Pineda for being our student of the month.
