Antonio Iglesias

Our staff person of the month comes from our Science Department. Antonio Iglesias is being recognized as our staff person of the month for his great dedication and hard work with his students.   Mr. Iglesias was born in Manhattan and raised in Pequannock, NJ by his Colombian mother and Cuban father. He grew up with two older sisters and attended the local public high school. Mr. Iglesias went on to Harvard University where he earned his bachelors in Earth and Planetary Sciences. Upon graduating, he returned home to New Jersey where he earned his Master’s in Teaching through the Newark Montclair Urban Teaching Residency where he was a resident here at East Side. He has been a teacher here ever since,  and is currently in his seventh year of teaching Earth science. In the classroom, Mr. Iglesias aims to instill a lens of critical thinking to navigate the world with facts while trying not to take the day to day too seriously through corny jokes. He lives in Montclair and has been married for three years, and in his spare time enjoys dinners out, daily crosswords, and playing on his Nintendo Switch.  Some days, you can find him and Mr. Diaz playing ping pong with each other or with their students.  Congratulations to Mr. Antonio Iglesias for being selected our staff person of the month.
