The Pre-Engineering Academy is an interdisciplinary, small learning community where scholars examine real world problems and develop possible solutions to solve them. The curriculum is designed for high school students who are considering a career in engineering and wish to learn more about the nature and challenges of the engineering profession.
The Common Core State Standards and 21st Century College Readiness skills are the foundation of every course. These courses are designed to propel students in the arena of engineering design. The coursework will allow scholars to explore the engineering design process across content and build knowledge base of issues relating to engineering.
Through project based and problem based learning that address real-world issues, scholars will be expected to think out of the box, utilize technology to engage in active research and inquiry as a means to develop sound designs.
Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
By engaging them in exciting programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire creativity, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
