The State of New Jersey has a comprehensive website full of information about COVID-19 for New Jersey residents.

Paying Rent: the City of Newark is helping renters by providing grants to eligible residents to help them pay their rent.

Breakfast and Lunch Program Locations
Update: the breakfast and lunch program will now distribute all meals on Monday 9:30-11:30 (meals for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) and on Thursday 9:30-11:30 (meals for Thursday and Friday). An adult should accompany their child to pick up meals at any of the sites nearest their home or current location. This link provides a list of distribution locations.

Food distribution is also available from Newark food pantries. Find a list here.

If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence: The Essex County Family Justice Center is closed for walk-ins but is available by phone. Please call our main number, 973-230-7229 and leave a message with a safe call-back number. GJC advocates will be monitoring voicemail between 9am and 3pm, Monday-Friday, and will call you back within 3 hours. If your are in immediate danger, please call 911. If you are need of emergency shelter, please call The Safe House hotline: 973-759-2154.
