Before coming to Bard, Dr. Silverman worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University, as Visiting Faculty at Sarah Lawrence College, and as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Yeshiva University. He also worked for many years in diverse fields fields of industry, including energy production, environmental science, analytical instrumentation, and pharmaceuticals research. He holds twenty patents and publications. Dr. Silverman’s courses include General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Environmental Science, and chemistry courses for non-majors. His research interests lie in biomineralization and orthopedics-related chemistry.
