Pre-K to second grade teachers at a school in Newark included something extra in their online assignments for their students recently: a video reminding them that their instructors miss them amid the coronavirus crisis.
About a dozen teachers from the Thirteenth Avenue School in Newark helped create the video for their young students. The video first shows educators in their best stay-at-home outfits - workout clothes, face masks, and even toilet paper curlers - before they pick up a book and transform into clean-cut versions of themselves.
Scott Harris, who has been teaching second grade at the school for three years, said educators at the school had to get more creative to connect with students. He had his 16-year-old daughter edit the clips together and uploaded the video to YouTube.
