Please come for a visit to Franklin School, one of Newark's warmest and friendliest learning communities located in the North Ward section of the city of Newark. We are a Pre-K3 through Fourth Grade school which includes General Education students, Special Education students, English Language Learners and one Pre-K Handicap classroom.

At Franklin School we strive to create an academic environment that is both enjoyable and rigorous, one that gives students various opportunities to display and fortify their talents through authentic work. We believe that these methods and activities will invite children to engage in inquiry and decision making as they experience their world and build relationships in it.

Our curriculum stresses writing in all disciplines, computation, problem solving, investigating, experimenting, building, applying the scientific method, collaboration and team work with peers. All instructional programs are aligned with the Common Core Standards and the Newark Public School's curriculum. The educational philosophy that we implement is constructivist and process oriented.

We encourage you to plan a visit to our school and experience a wonderful day
