Welcome

Please come for a visit to Cleveland School, located in the Central Ward section of the city of Newark.  We are a Pre-K through Grade Eighth School which , includes General Education students and Special Education students.  At Cleveland School we strive to create a learning environment that is both enjoyable and rigorous.

Our curriculum stresses writing in all disciplines, computation, problem solving, investigating, experimenting, building, and applying the scientific method, collaboration and team work with peers.  All instructional programs are aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and the Newark Public School's curriculum.  The educational philosophy that we implement is constructivist and process oriented.
