West Side High School Vision and Mission

 Welcome to West Side High School where there are breakthroughs every day.  I am honored to serve as your principal and instructional leader.  West Side High School is an exciting place to be.  As a School Improvement Grant (SIG) school, we have been awarded 6 million dollars over three years to drive dramatic educational gains for our students.  As a SIG school we have additional resources that allow us to extend our learning time.  Our school day runs from 8:20am-4:07pm. We have also formed strong partnerships with community agencies including but not limited to the Urban League, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, The Amelior Foundation, Jersey Cares, Newark Alliance, and the West Ward Collective.  Alongside our partners, we aim to position our children to lead lives full of accomplishments and personal meaning.  Our core values are team work, excellence, professionalism, hard work, and caring. 2012-2013 promises to be a breakthrough year.  I look forward to working with each of you in service of students.
