Mr. David DeOliveira is our principal and we have two vice principals, Mrs. Caren Verde and Mrs. Elsa Materan. We are located in the North Ward section of Newark (Forest Hill), near Branch Brook Park.
Ridge Street School is a K - 8 school which consists of two locations: The Main Building/Temporary Classroom Units (TCUs), and the Early Childhood Center. Our main building is located at 735 Ridge Street. There are approximately 600 students attending Ridge Street School.
Our staff is comprised of dedicated teachers who care very much about our students. Many of our teachers have been the recipients of grants and awards during this school year and previous school years. Our support staff and non-instructional personnel are also very dedicated to our students.
Our School Leadership Council (SLC) is a collaborative, cooperative, advisory, and decision-making body which consists of instructional personnel, non-instructional personnel, parents, and community members. Our SLC's goal is to improve teaching and learning in our school. Our meetings are open to any member of the Ridge Street School family. Check our calendar for meeting dates.
Our Parent Academy is an integral part of the Ridge Street School family. We are grateful to all the parents who participate in the Parent Academy.
