Who is eligible to attend?

Any adult who is over 18 years of age and has not yet earned a high school diploma in the state of New Jersey is eligible to attend.

Students currently enrolled in one of Newark Public Schools Comprehensive High schools, upon the recommendation of your Guidance Counselor

Where will the program be located?

All  classes will be held at the former Newton Street School, located at 150 Newton Street, which is the new home of Fast Track Academy. Adult classes are part of the services offered at Fast Track Academy.

What days and times will classes be held?

Classes meet on Mondays & Wednesdays or on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:30-8:30 pm. There are  two class sessions each evening. The first class meets from 4:30-6:20 pm. The second class meets from 6:40-8:30 pm. Fall Semester begins September 17th and ends on January 31st. The Spring semester starts on February 4th and concludes on June 14th.

How do I register for this semester?

Registration is available online or in person. You can register in person at 150 Newton St. Newark, NJ, between the hours of 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.    Additionally there is an online application that can be completed by using the following link http://www.nps.k12.nj.us/neec/registration/

What documents/items do I need in order to register?

All students need to provide a photo I.D., and proof of residency. If you are continuing along our traditional pathway toward obtaining your high school diploma, you will also need to provide your transcript, so that an audit can  be conducted to determine what classes you need to complete the requirements for graduation.

As a former Newark Evening High School student who do I contact to obtain a copy of my transcript or to verify enrollment or graduation.

To obtain an official copy of your transcript, you may request it in person, or online. The cost for a transcript is $7, and can be paid at the time the request is made or upon pickup. All other inquiries regarding documentation or verification should be addressed directly to office the staff of Newark Evening

Who can I contact if I have additional questions?

Ms. Tiffany Overton, is the School Chief Innovation Officer, and the administrator of the Evening Center Program, however  questions regarding the program can be answered by any of the full time evening staff.  The evening program can be reached directly at 973-733-6992.
