This is the statewide test aligned to the standards that would test students of all achievement levels on what they are learning. The assessments in Math and ELA serve to assess students’ current performance, and point the way to what students need to learn by graduation so they are ready for college and/or a career.
DLM April 9 – May 25
Dynamic Learning Maps offers a way for students with significant cognitive disabilities to demonstrate their learning. These students do not take the PARCC or the SRI. The DLM allows for the use of common assistive technologies in addition to keyboard, mouse and touch-screen technology.
ACCESS – ELL Grades K – 8 February 20 – April 1
Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners (ACCESS for ELLs) is a secure large-scale English language proficiency assessment given to Kindergarten through 12th graders who have been identified as English language learners (ELLs). It is given annually to monitor students’ progress in acquiring academic English.
NJSLA-S Grades 5 and 8 April 7 – April 9
The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment in Science is a new computer-based test with accommodations available similar to other state assessments. NJSLA will test measures fifth and eighth grade students’ ability to recall information and to solve problems by applying science concepts. The test assesses knowledge and application skills in three clusters; Life Science, Earth Science and Physical Science.
