Greetings Belmont Runyon Family,
In an effort to engage our students in continuous learning opportunities and prevent loss of learned skills, we are excited to bring to you our “Resist Summer Slide” packets for summer 2018. We have developed the enclosed literacy project and math packet for each student to complete and return the 1st day of school, September 4, 2018.
English Language Arts (ELA)
Each grade level has been given a specific book to read and a project to complete based on the book. The summer book project must be completed and handed in to your child’s new teacher on September 4, 2018. The summer book project will be the first literacy grade of the 2018-2019 school year.
The tasks within should provide a different view of the ways mathematics can be used to make sense of quantities. Your child will be completing problems and tasks based on essential skills and concepts required for their grade level. Your child will be expected to provide reasons and explanations for their answers and asked to present solution(s) to the class. The packet is due September 4, 2018.
Enjoy the Summer Break!
