Physical Education and Health
The Physical Education teacher works closely with each Grade Level Team or Department to plan units that are aligned to each grade’s unit plans. The Physical Education teacher works with students in developing an appreciation for the history of sports and will learn to play a variety of team games and activities. Students will also become more aware of the health component of physical education and learn how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
The visual arts teacher works closely with each Grade Level Team or Department to plan units that are aligned to each grade’s unit plans. The Visual Arts program at BRICK serves as enrichment to the students’ academic program and complements what is happening in the core subject areas.
The visual arts teacher serves as the expert on how to illuminate the visual arts perspective for teachers as they plan their units throughout the year. The visual arts teacher may also work with teachers to develop ways they can use the visual arts to enrich their own lessons and units.
The foreign language teacher works closely with classroom teachers to plan units that are aligned to each grade’s transdisciplinary units. Students learn both the language and the culture associated with that language.
The technology teacher works to prepare students for the New Jersey Technological Assessment for Proficiency and Integration (NJTAP-IN). The assessment takes place throughout the year and includes performance based tasks, multiple choice quizzes, and open-ended questions.
